The Hard-earned Marriage

The very next day,when Mrs.Lee went to the neighborhood market,Iris have a quick chat with her dad and brother regarding her life decision.Both of them agreed to her decision and her dad will try to convince her mum.Isaac is in charge of inviting Vincent to their home for lunch.He even told his mum that Philips is coming for lunch,so that she will cook extra.

When it is time,Vincent came,dressed very formally to meet the Lee family.Mrs.Lee was angry when she realized that she was cheated by the whole family.However,she pretended to be fine by still welcoming him,but not with open arms.

After lunch,Isaac announced to the whole family that Vincent has got an important thing to tell everyone.Nervously,Vincent told the whole family that he and Iris is going to tie the knot.Mrs.Lee is flabbergasted as she never expect this dude to be faster than her favorite Korean guy.She refused to agree over what was said by Vincent.

However,Vincent quickly kneel on the floor,saying that he really loves Iris sincerely and hope to get her blessing.Mrs.Lee asked Iris:'What about Philips?'Iris knelt down together with Vincent, saying:'I turned him down yesterday.I do not think we are compatible.It is best for us to remain as friends.Vincent is my soul mate,though I lost him for a few years,now I have found the him.I am not going to give up upon him whether you like it or not.It is my life and I have the right and responsibility to direct my life.'

Mrs.Lee is still adamant over her decision.She is not going to agree no matter what as this is going to violate her age-old family traditions.When the two guys in the family see no cure to Mrs.Lee's stubbornness,both of them copied the couple by kneeling as well.

Unable to believe that her family is turning their back against her,Mrs.Lee agreed reluctantly to bless both of them in their marriage.

A month later,both Vincent and Iris got married happily.Photographers and wedding planners commented their compatibility with each other.They admired the couple as Iris and Vincent are indeed a beautiful couple.

At the wedding dinner,both of them shared their testimony about their relationship being tough but rewarding,it is not perfect but it is filled with utter sincerity by both parties,accompanied by dash of romance from the groom and lots of love from the bride,just like a wonderful roller coaster ride.

When it is the family's turn to deliver their speech,Mrs.Lee stepped forward and said:'I am really sorry for having prejudice towards my son-in-law.Just because he is not of Korean descent,I refused to acknowledge the love and care he shower upon my darling daughter all these years,from the time he saved my daughter until today.I truly hope that the Tanaka family will forgive me for my ruthless act.From now on,may my blessing be upon this marvelous marriage.'

The Lee family and the new Tanaka couple cheered loudly when this relationship is finally approved.They were relieved that Mrs.Lee finally understood that love can cross the culture and ethnicity boundary.

Hence,the Japanese-Korean couple and their family live happily ever after.Love is indeed a surprise because when you think that it is never here,it arrives;when it is lost,love is found;when love is misunderstood,it manage to make itself clear once more.The most crucial thing is that:Love transcends all understanding.

Two Proposals in One Day

Although the rays of the elegant diamonds shone into her mind,it could not penetrate her heart.Logically,Iris find Philips the best mate as he is blessed by Mrs.Lee.Also,he is already holding a managerial position at the age of 30,with substantial amount of wealth and able to bestow upon her every desire she has.

The opposite is true to Vincent as he is just a junior risk analyst at the age of 25,which has to seriously buck up if he were to be like Philips.The harder thing is Vincent has not yet moved a single artery of Iris's mum.

However,she believe that true love comes within her heart.That is why she pondered for a moment to see which guy is the first one to pop out in her mind.When Philips ask her is she ready for life's biggest decision,she nodded.

Iris looked at Philips apologetically when he proposed to her as she knew that her heart is not into it.Mustering some courage,Iris turned down his proposal without thinking of what might happen if she really did so:Her mum will 'kill' her!But then,it doesn't matter to her as this is her life.It is solely up to her to chose her own life partner,not to live out someone's choice.

She ran away and took a taxi to Vincent's house.He was taking care of his pet rabbit,Hiroki who grown up so much since the last time she came to see it.Vincent constantly chatted with his cute little white rabbit when he is down.Incidentally,Iris heard whatever Vincent told it and can't help but press the door bell to gain access to his house.

Vincent looked at her and said:'I am glad that you came here at last.'Iris burst into tears and kept saying that she is extremely sorry for her misunderstanding of the true situation.Without any hesitation,he forgave her as he is also at fault as well.

He asked her to wait for him in the living room while he go for a bath.As soon as he is done,he came out to meet her with a smile.'Come on let us go for a dinner at our favorite stall,I have got something in store for our reunion...'Vincent said,winking.

So,they had dinner at a simple but warm ramen stall,chatting about everything under the moon.After that,Vincent drove her to a theme park.He went to buy two entrance tickets and both of them went in,feeling as if they were just teenagers.

When Vincent and Iris are in Magical Garden,Vincent asked her to close her eyes.She did as she is told and Vincent quickly kneel on the ground holding a simple looking diamond ring.After that,he tell Iris to open her eyes.

Iris was taken aback when she saw the ring.She could not believe that there were two guys proposing her on the same day.The difference is that she rejected the earlier one,but nodded gladly to the evening's one.They embraced each other for a while as they felt that they are the happiest beings on the universe.

However,as time passes,it is time for both of them to go home.Reality sets in as Iris is going to face her mother again.Let us see how is Iris going to resolve this conflict and win her mother over to accept Vincent as her son-in-law instead of Philips.

Mysteries Unfolded,Love Rekindled

Iris rushed home and switched on her computer.She cannot imagine what did Vincent write to her over these years.With great anticipation,she log in her email using the old address,hoping that by divine intervention,the unused mail box will remain active on the register.Only if this happen,then she can see the mysteries of Vincent's heart.

A miracle happened as her mailbox is still considered active despite of not signing in for ages.However,she stopped short.Iris is stunned that her mailbox is used to the maximum capacity,despite of not using the mailbox for years.When she started reading the first mail,only then did she realize that Vincent is explaining most of the events and apologizing to her earnestly,this message is written a week after Iris's departure from the United States.

Eagerly,she opened the next mail.It is filled with most of their pictures together,with some cute captions beneath it.When she read the picture which has the caption of that is just the way we are,she can't help having tears flowing out from her eyes.In that very instant,she felt that her love for Mr.Tanaka rekindled once again.

Realizing that his mails were never answered,romantic Vincent began writing a diary in the from of emails to her,updating every single thing that is revolving around him.At some point of time,he even started to predict what is Iris's life like over here in Malaysia,which makes her laugh.Most of the mails are about his feelings towards her.

This is the first time she felt so guilty for giving up upon Vincent without realizing that she is the one who gets all the facts wrong.While engrossing in her thoughts and many past memories,suddenly,the door bell rang.

It is Philips,dressing resplendently waiting for her outside.She remembered the hi-tea date with this dude.Note that she referred to him as a dude,not sweetheart or beloved as they are just friends,nothing more,nothing less.

She went out with him for an English tea break.As soon as they finish their food,Philips brought Iris to a beautiful garden and started to express his love for her,as if he will not survive if she is gone.After confessing,he held up a nice little package and show her a diamond ring.

The Luncheon of Confession

The very next day,Isaac managed to persuade his little sister to come with him for a luncheon.Secretly,he preferred Vincent as his brother-in-law than Philips as Vincent is a very well-read and open-minded guy,which makes communicating with him a great joy.On the other hand,he realized that Philips is a little stuck up as he is just completed his post-graduate studies,thinking that he is way greater than the simple-finance-officer Isaac.

Vincent waited impatiently for Iris's arrival as he has so many words bottled up within him waiting to gush out of his vein.He just felt like saying every single thing that is on his mind,but hoped that he would not say it in a super-disorganized way.He hoped that she would come and give him another chance.

Then,along came Iris,looking as beautiful as the last time they meet.The difference is that she cut her hair short,but still it suits her really well.As soon as she settled down at the lunch table,Vincent quickly approach her and say hi to her.

She can't really recognize him initially as he dyed his hair brown and style it really professionally because he already stepped into the working world.When he smiled,she remembered who this boyish person is.

Iris said to him that she is not supposed to talk to him as she is already engaged to Philips,albeit informally.However,Isaac popped from the back and tell her not to tell lies as they just knew each other,in other words,less than 3 months.He asked Vincent to spill the beans.

Vincent started off with the day Iris left.Vincent mentioned that the person whom he is in love with is Iris,but at that time he thought that she is just a nurse.He told Iris that the Japanese lady whom he chats with that day is his cousin who is 5 years older than him.He even laughs it off by saying that she is too old for him.Vincent even asked Iris why she haven't read any emails that he sent her.He tried so hard to contact Iris,but the number changed.There is no way to contact her except to come back after graduation.The most important thing is that he still loves her very much.

Iris was guilty.She felt that she never gave any chance for him to say anything by not checking her old email box for ages.However,she tried to be strong and said that she doesn't believe any of his sweet talks again,leaving him with Isaac without taking her lunch.Deep down she really wanted to go home soon to check her old emails just to see what has he got there for her.

Truth Hurts...He is going Green!

After completing his studies in the United States,Vincent came back to Malaysia.He quickly drive to Iris's home as he wanted to explain the real situation to her.

When he reached there,he was very disappointed.This is because Vincent saw Iris with another guy chatting on the swing.What is worse is Iris's mum treated the newbie like a king,as opposed to his relationship with Iris.Now,he saw that there is not much of a chance for him to be with Iris,he felt like disappearing from the house while they were engrossed with each other.

However,he bumped into Isaac.Vincent thought that he is going to be doomed as he unintentionally jilted Iris.The big bro of Iris is very protective of his sister,anybody who tries to lay a hand on her will not be let off that easily,unless she chose to hide the truth from him.Vincent felt that as if he is going to get a nice punch on his face.

Strangely,Isaac joked with him:'You jealous already?'Vincent agreed angrily.The great thing is Isaac understood his predicament and tell him that he will try to convince Iris to have a lunch date with him so that she can meet Vincent in order to clarify the whole matter.

Now he felt a new fresh hope filling him.Vincent is just going to do his best to win Iris heart and proving to her once again that he is her hero...

New Date,New Life

Life goes on for Iris.Feeling sad is pointless as their relationship is over,once Vincent loved someone,he will really be super-devoted to his new girl.She studied as usual and no longer chats on the messenger as the pledge is broken informally,which leads her to change a totally new cell phone number and email address.

After finishing her tertiary education,she went to a graduation party organized by a dear friend.Iris was very lonely as there were many strangers in the room.However,an attractive guy name Philips saw her and introduced himself to her.Iris was not at all prepare for a new relationship,which is why she shunned him.

Iris thought to herself:How can he be compared to Vincent?Vincent is just like a perpetual spring which flows in her vein that makes her feel very different.Philips,not wanting to give up upon such a sweet but shy person continued to chat with her.

Somehow,he hit the right topic,which is about the human mind.Success,Philips strike a chord with Iris!In the end both of them talked until it is time to go home.They exchanged their numbers and email addresses which implies they vow to contact each other more often.

When Iris invited Philips to her home,he greeted Iris's mum in Korean.Mrs.Lee was excited when she heard something that is music to her ears.She asked Philips whether is he a Korean and he nodded.Now that she has found a perfect match for Iris,she occasionally asked him to come for their family functions.Eventually,she began to have some feelings for Philips Kim.

Oh my goodness,she lose her other half and got it back again.This is to show that love is indeed a surprise as it hid from Iris and appears to her once again...just like an eclipse!

Love is a Surprise--Chapter 14

The Photograph

When Iris came back,her brother is aware that she looks gaunt and depressed.Isaac asked her what happened over there. Iris said that Vincent lose his memory in a car accident,forgot all about her and told her that he loved someone else.

Isaac was angry but he could not blame the fellow as he is already an amnesiac,he console his sister and ask her to slowly let go of Vincent because there is not only a rose in the garden,there are better guys out there.

The only person that is quite happy about that incident is Mrs.Lee.She does not like the relationship between Iris and Vincent as they are from a different culture and that the Tanaka family is extremely Americanized,while she is from a traditional Korean family who wears Hanbok on any special occassion.

Back in US,Vincent is discharged from the hospital still disorientated as he can never understand the message near the entrance of his ward.He went back to his dormitory.When he started to get his Advanced Calculus up to date,a photograph dropped out from the book.He picked it up and have a good look at the photo.

After working on some computational questions,he suddenly remembered who is the girl with him in the photograph.Vincent felt like slapping himself as he said some nonsense about loving another girl which causes the girl to write a farewell note.Now,the girl whom he thought to be a nurse or welfare worker is gone.

That evening he became feverish as surge of flashbacks jogged his long-term memory which enabled him to remember every single thing.Regretfully,he cried to himself softly as he had given up a girl he loved dearly.

Not wanting to quit after making the gravest mistake in his entire life,he started to write an email with the subject of Urgent!Please don't delete...

Love is a Surprise--Chapter 13

Fall out of Love,Heartbroken...

Everyday,for a week,Iris look after Vincent and even helped him to get a zap of the past by telling him lots of their memories together.Vincent still could not remember anything as he has a throbbing pain on his head every time he strain his memory.Iris remains as patient as usual,which stirs up some emotion in Vincent.Tears began to flow down from his cheeks.

Iris asked is there anything that bothers him and he said yes.Vincent says that he cannot even remember after such a long time,let alone felt in love romantically with her.He even said that he is guilty of receiving Iris's help all the time as he already has another girl in his heart.

This short but direct sentence stunned her.She just responded by saying,'Vincent,maybe you are just too tired,I will leave you alone for the time being...'As Iris left the room,she dashed to the nearest park and weep uncontrollably.

Now that the truth has shattered her dreams of having a meaningful life with someone she love.
Strange enough,she believe whatever that is spoken of Vincent because she knew that theoretically amnesiac tells the truth most of the time.

However,she still trusts Vincent as they have already knew each other for 5 solid years.Iris decided to give it a try,which leads her to run all the way back to Vincent's ward.Maybe she is just too sensitive of what he spoken or he might be groggy thinking that she is a nurse.

Just standing outside of the ward alone,she knew the answer already.Iris heard a feminine voice speaking in Japanese to Vincent.She is devastated as it has been a week since he had the accident.The tendency to fall in love with a totally new person is there.Who knows that maybe this is the girl whom he fell in love with the moment he is awake from this short-lived coma.

Iris wrote a note which says:'I know the answer already...But I really love you very much.My principle about love is:I will let you go if you love the other person,so that you will lead a happy life.Well,I think I have overstayed at the United States.Sorry to trouble your parents anyway,I will be leaving tomorrow.Good bye my lovely friend...From Iris.'After that,she slid the note into the gap between the doors.

This twist of fate happen again.Long distance love really tests one's relationship.Although the relationship started like a dream,Iris never thought that it will end so quickly,dissipating into bubbles of nightmare.Vincent is just a part of her life,but he erased himself from her memory so sudden like a storm...

Love is a Surprise--Chapter 12

'I am sorry,I can't remember...'

As soon as they reach New Jersey,Iris and the Tanaka family proceed to Vincent's university to find out more about their son.To their dismay,they found out that Vincent is involved in an automobile accident.

Mr.Tanaka drove to the hospital that Vincent is admitted to at the maximum legal speed.Mrs.Tanaka was distraught over what happened to her boy,she expected to see him well and happy albeit busy with his studies.Iris can't stop weeping as she can never believe that such evil befall her boy friend.

When they reached the hospital,Iris enquire the hospital staff where is Vincent's ward.Immediately,the whole household rushed to the specific ward.They felt shocked when they see Vincent's puzzled face,as his usual response began with 'Hey,whazzup?' .He is still the same,except that he looks thinner and there is a bandage around his head.

Ignoring his weird expression,Iris introduced herself to him once again as she recognise the symtom of retrograde amnesia.This form of temporal memory loss occurs due to the impact on his head,which makes him unable to remember most of the past events.He smiled and asked her whether is she his sister and are they his family.She denied the former,but nodded to the latter question.

His mum could no longer maintain her composure and broke in to tears.On the other hand, his dad looks thoughtfully at his son and move forward to stroke his back,saying:'I miss you son,thank goodness you are alright.'Valerie asked her elder brother whether can he remember anything for the time being as she is concerned over what happened to him.

Vincent spoke,'Hi everyone,I am a little bit embarassed as I cannot really remember any of you.But then,seeing the way you guys talk to me,I believed that all of you are very dear to me...'pointing to his heart as he said these words.He even hope that he can slowly get all of them registered in his long loss memory.

Tears began to well up in Iris's eyes.Although Vincent might not remember who she is,Iris firmly believes that she is somehow in his heart.He is still as kind and romantic as usual,the action of pointing to his heart clearly shows that he is a very loving guy.

Everything happens for a reason.Thank goodness,Vincent deserted his messenger for a near-death reason,not leaving Iris behind of fall in love with someone else.=)

1,2,3 Action!!

The very next day,Iris drive to Vincent's house.She was worried sick and believed that something serious has occurred to Vincent.Her instincts have never failed her since young.

When she reach his place,she saw Valerie,the younger sister of Vincent.Without hesitating,Iris asked the girl whether anything happened to her elder brother.

With a grave expression,Valerie told Iris that the same thing happened to them as well.The whole family felt weird that Vincent has not contact them for a week and have decided to make an urgent trip to America to see whether Vincent is alright.

Mrs.Tanaka even persuaded Iris to follow them to New Jersey as she felt that Iris is one of the family member.Iris answered positively without much consideration as she is too concerned about the guy she love.

Needless to say,Iris's mum objected her daughter's departure as she does not really like Iris to mix around with that family.However,Isaac manage to sweet-talk his mum by saying that his little sister is capable of staying true to herself.He even told his mum not to be over-conservative about this awesome relationship as Vincent is really a sincere and loyal young man although he might be of a different ethnic origin.

Without delay,Iris went to US with the Tanaka family.As a faithful Christian,she prayed earnestly that Vincent will be safe from all forms of harm.Iris is having a fitful sleep for the last few days as she is preoccupied with only Vincent in her mind,but she fell into a deep slumber on the plane as she felt that she is closer to the truth...

What Happened??

One fine day,as Iris is chatting on the internet,she felt that something is amiss.It is already 10pm,yet Vincent is nowhere to be found in the cyberspace.This is the first time it happened which worries her for a moment.However,she decided to let this matter rest as who knows her beloved is studying pretty hard for the coming exams.

Unfortunately,here comes the scary thing...It has been a week since they have chatted online,Iris began to panic as she does not know what happens to Vincent in New Jersey.He has been practicing the consistency concept for years and it will certainly be scary if he stopped without a valid reason.

She thought to herself calmly to see whatever it is that is making Vincent mad of her,but there is none that she know of.The night before they logged off,Vincent even promised to visit her during the summer holidays as final year students does not have much assignment at that time compared to the junior years.He can get them done before coming back.

Suddenly,Iris thought of calling him.Immediately,she called his cell phone,hoping to find out what is up recently that keeps him from being online.To her utter shock,she realized that the number is not used anymore...

She was depressed as they never hide anything from each other.Now that he refused to even disclose his cellphone number to her makes everything so weird.However,Iris is not going to stop here,she is going to find out more before drawing a conclusion that the cordial relationship ended as sudden as a storm...

Away Physically,but not Mentally Away

After two years,both of them finished high school.Iris went to a nearby college to study foundation in arts which subsequently leads to a degree in psychology,while Vincent was accepted into Princeton University on scholarship to pursue an Actuarial Science degree.

They were sad to leave each other as the last two years in high school is one of the most memorable time for both Iris and Vincent.However,they decided to keep in touch daily via the messenger at exactly 10pm for Iris and 10 am for Vincent.As they knew that the time difference between Malaysia and the United States is exactly 24 hours apart.

At the airport,Vincent even told her that he will always remember the pledge made between them,that is to wait for each other and not to wander away from this sweet relationship.It was a tearful farewell for them,but they have their own dreams and it will not be really appropriate for them to give up whatever they wish just because they want to be together for 24-7.

Each day,at the agreed time,Vincent and Iris will chat about their daily lives and constantly encourage each other to press on in whatever they do.The most wonderful thing is:Although they were miles and miles apart,their heart seems to be just next to each other.This goes on for years,without fail.

Whatever it is,Iris feels total fulfillment in life as she always felt that Vincent is by her side although he is not present physically.=)

A Young Judge

Eventually,both Vincent and Iris visited each others family when they do group study.Iris is always welcomed by the Tanaka family as they accept people of different culture and ethnicity.Unfortunately,Mrs.Lee do not really favor Vincent as he is a Japanese,not a Korean.Isaac is always the one who tries very hard to persuade his mum not to have prejudice with Vincent as he really is a kind young man,who cares to sacrifice his life to save Iris.

Forgetting to mention that Iris is a petite Korean girl with cute slit eyes,which does not appeal to local guys who prefer girls with big and beautiful eyes.She is also a very shy girl who does not really approach any students in class as she would not mind being alone.That is why she ends up being the only solo in the class before Vincent's arrival.

However,one day,the class went cranky when they knew that Vincent came down with a flu and was absent for the day.The girls started to paste some nasty post-it messages on Iris's back that says:Ugly bitch wanted a hot cake,f*** me,slap me,wanted to be cool but can't,almost blind eyes and other disgusting message.The guys even stuff chewing gum on her chair with the hope of letting her sit and have trouble getting up afterward.

Needless to say,the worried-about-Vincent Iris just fall into their mean trap.She got all the weird stares at the canteen,got slapped and sat down without looking at her chair.She really knew nothing of their prank until the teacher say they are free to go home.She felt that she could not really move from her seat.She forced herself to stand and realize that her skirt is stuck with chewing gum.Yikes!

The whole class burst into laughter and embarrassed by all the nonsense,Iris break down and run all the way back home.After reaching home,Vincent ring her up.Upon hearing her muffled voice over the other end,he started to ask what happen.Naturally,she pour out whatever that is bothering her that morning which angered Vincent.He told her not to worry as he will talk to the monitor about it.

The very next day,Vincent and Iris came to school earlier than usual.They met Ju Cee,the class monitor and complain to her what had happened.However,she just smiled cynically,saying that Iris deserve it.

Vincent was mad at the rude response...As the students fill the class that day,he begin to shout at the class,saying:'What have gotten into you people??Just because you do not like someone,you all ganged up and set up a very bad joke on my friend!That is the most cowardice thing I have ever heard in history.If you don't like her,just say so,never do that!Thank god this is a modern time,or else all of you will be long beheaded in the olden days!!Can't you guys be nicer to your classmate?Like her or not,she is still part of the class...You all deprived her of the right to be a normal student in class...Wake up!!!'

After saying all these,he called Iris over and they went out of class.She thanked him profusely saying:'Hey,Vince...thanks for standing up for me.This is the first time someone actually helped me when I get bullied in class.Normally,all these events hurt me and I just let them self-resolve which makes me feel less sad as time passes.Doomo,Vincent-kun...'

Vincent clutched her tightly to his chest and say:'It doesn't matter,no human being deserves to be humiliated until she is at the brink of tears.I am just upholding justice for people who were mistreated.Most importantly,they must understand that you are the same as them,nothing more and nothing less.'

As they walked back to class.Some of the students apologized to her as they felt guilty about that day's incident.Iris felt that she is in 7th heaven as she has a hero that is constantly standing by her.She felt that it is way better for her to have one true friend than to have a world of fair-weather friends.To be continued...

Valentine Message in the Text Book

Time sure flies...It is Valentine's day and Iris do not usually look forward for this day as it is a day when she will be quite envy of other girls who will receive many gifts from their boy friends.However,today is different...She would like to see whether anyone would give her anything.It is weird as she is usually not interested in this event.

When Iris reach her class,she is rather disappointed as there is nothing on her table.What is worse is Vincent pretended that he did not know that she is already in class.She started to felt angry with herself for thinking so much about their relationship,while in actual fact he just treat her as a friend.

While having maths class,Iris opened her text book.She was surprised to see a message in between the pages where the teacher will be teaching for the day.Without much though,she read the message.It said:Iris,can we meet in the library after class,I have a got a nice little surprise for you.Love,Vincent.

Iris was overjoyed as this guy really makes it a unique and mysterious Valentine day.It is unconventional for guys to keep their feelings so low-profile,but then it is a great thing for this is the first surprise she ever received for Valentine's day.

As soon as class ends,both of them met in the library.They went to a secluded spot in the library and Vincent gave her a peck on the cheek.He passed her a box of chocolates and even asked her to be his girlfriend as they find each other rather compatible,in spite of some cultural differences.Although she find it a little sudden,she accepted him and his chocolates.

In just a month,Iris found that life has indeed changed.Instead of being lonely,boring and meaningless,it has transformed itself to something so unpredictable and somehow romantic.She really likes Vincent as he is truly different from the rest of the guys in her class as he has a certain charm and mystery that never fails to impress her.=)

Vincent Tanaka

Vincent is a brilliant student.He speaks impeccable American English and a math whiz,which often impresses the teachers.However,he have slight problems with the Malay language as he can write,but can't seem to pronounce the word properly.

Most of the teachers are his fans,except for the Malay Language teacher.He constantly poke fun at him by making him reading tough words,knowing that he will sure pronounce it wrongly and the whole class will laugh out loud.

Luckily,his good friend,Iris helps him a lot by accompanying him to watch some P.Ramlee movies so as to get his pronunciation right.Vincent helps her by guiding her to solve difficult mathematical problems.Both of them encourage each other,and it is no surprise that feelings started to develop.

However,they try to focus on their studies first instead of thinking how to confess to each other.Vincent is busy trying to fit in with the class,who definitely tries to avoid him as well,because they thought that he is struck by the so-called 'Irisinitis'.He does not mind a bit as he always believes time will change things.

Although he is very good-looking.He does not let himself to be drowned by the girls in the class,he is just planning to study hard and do well in karate.It is a shame for a Japanese to do badly in karate,in the opinion of the Tanaka family.Before talking about Vincent further,his ethnic origin should be introduced first.He have a Japanese dad and Chinese mum,which makes him a hot blend of anime look.

He will be described further in other chapters,not really nice to spill all his beans though.So,see you guys another day.=)

A Mortal Angel

The next day,Iris went to school by her brother's car.She looked forward for every school day as it leads her closer to her goals each day,that is to be a psychologist like her dad.She can't help feeling fascinated about how the human mind work.With her father to guide her in her studies and having an educated conversation with him,she can work with her dad to help troubled teens as she thought that she herself is one problem kid.

As usual,she sat at the back alone.Most of her friends have each other and she does not want to be the person who forms the group of threesome with any pairs in the class.In her opinion:2 is a company,3 is a crowd.Seats in the buses only cater for two person at a time,not three.In the end the third person will be left out...Anyway,she is just using that as an excuse to prevent herself from feeling lonely,she really would not mind being the third,but she is afraid that she will be rejected.In short,Iris does not have a true friend in class-knows many people but nobody knows her well.

Miss Wong the biology-cum-class teacher came in to class the moment the school bell rang.She announced to the class that there is a new student and invited him to make an introduction to the class.The moment the new student step in,Iris smile broadly.

It is Vincent,the guy she met yesterday.As he introduced himself with the cutest smile,the girls in the class can't help but look at him admiringly as he has those features that some of the girls really die for.Two girls in front quarreled as to who should move to sit with Iris at the back as both of them wanted to sit with the hot young man.The teacher signaled the two chatterboxes to be quiet and she told Vincent to sit at the back with Iris.

The whole class especially the girls started to jeer when Miss Wong finished the last sentence.To them,they believed that Iris do not deserve to sit with such a great guy,because she is not conventionally pretty or sexy,shall I say...But who cares,Vincent already said that she is beautiful,which means that only he knows how to appreciate her as she is.

Both of them smiled and pretend to introduce themselves so as not to arouse suspicion of the class that they have met before.

Class started and ends with a radiant smile on Iris's face.She can never believe that right beside her is the kind guy who never bully her in class.This is the first time she is not alone in class,every one has a partner in class to do any activities,without the need for her to pair up with her teachers for any pair assignments.

Everything happens for a reason.If Iris is sitting with another person,she would never get to sit beside Vincent,implying that good thing comes to those wait and here she is,enjoying the daily company of her first true friend.To be continued...=D

The Half-blind Date

On Sunday,Isaac accompanied Iris to the square as agreed.However,Isaac decided to just keep a certain distance to prevent the guy from feeling that he is being spied upon and therefore not being himself.

Iris waited at the McDonald's for the mystery guy to appear.Suddenly,someone tapped her on the back.She turned around and saw him.She stared at him for a moment and look down on the floor as she is rather shy in nature.

Iris could never believe that this person is her hero as he is a guy with very fine features,which could not possibly fight with the big and burly robber the other day.He looked at her and smiled sweetly(quite unusual for a guy),which followed by a very polite introduction:'Greetings,Iris...my name is Vincent.It is a pleasure meeting such a nice person as you.I am so sorry for hanging up abruptly the other day,here is your school bag...shall we be friends?'

Needless to say,Iris nodded.To her,she never anticipate that such a gentleman like Vincent can stop the robber.In fact,she thought that she will be meeting Mr.Muscle because only this type of person can fight with the fat brute.

Vincent matches Iris's description of her dream guy:Tall,doe-liked eyes,high nose,full lips with a very winsome smile,fair skin and longish hair-style.She thought that she can never meet this person except in her imagination.

After taking a long look at the decent young man,Isaac was convinced that he should let go of Iris to be on her own for a moment.Both of them were really happy with each others company and Iris even found out why Vincent was able to block the robber the other day.This is because he is a guy with a black belt in karate.She even got to know that he lives in the United States before moving back to Malaysia.

The moment Vincent stroke her hair gently and said that she is beautiful when they were in the park,Iris felt like as though she is living her dream as no one really did that to her.Most of the guys in her class are not interested in her because she is very,very different from the rest in terms of mannerism and finesse,unlike the many others who are really cool and to some limit,bitchy.The guys usually call their girls hot,which is something not really nice to Iris.

On that day itself,Iris felt that as though her prayers were answered.She has never felt so complete in her life,now instead of feeling bored and lonely,she looks forward for every new day to meet her new crush.

Whatever it is,people...Just be patient and your dream will really come true.Same here,be patient and you get to see how the feeling of crush developed into some mutual feeling for these two wonderful person.Good night!=)

Family Love Above All

At home,Iris had a nap for two hours,burning with a mild fever because of the shock that she had just now.Her parents were glad that she managed to escape unscathed,because many recent robbery cases involves the death or the victim sexually abused.They were only afraid of one thing:how is she mentally?

After the nap,her parents asked her what happened and Iris told everything slow but steady.Her dad,a neighborhood psychologist smiled pleasingly as he is convinced that his daughter is doing fine.Dr.Lee comforted Iris by telling her not to care about her misplaced school bag as these can still be bought by money.She began to hug both her parents and brother.

Isaac,her elder brother even offered her a ride home when he is having his college lunch break.Iris smiled to herself sheepishly as her brother used to tease her a lot of having a boyfriend to walk her back daily.But this seems untrue now,as she ends up getting pounced by some sick ass holes.Now,she met Mr.Robber,what next?Mr.Flasher,Mr.Rapist and other very evil characters in the back alley...

Suddenly,she received a message from a stranger.She is annoyed by it as she thought it was some cranky guy sending spam messages and dismiss it as a wrong message.After a while,her cell phone rang.She picked it up nervously,anticipating some weird kind of person on the other end.

The caller at the other end said:'Hi Iris!I bet you are fine right now,but your school bag...Not to worry,it is safe with me!Why don't we meet at Rainbow Square on Sunday?I will give you a treat!'and hung up.

Iris was shocked and surprised as this is the first time someone asked her out.However,she is afraid to meet him as she does not know him.The worst thing is she could not even remember how her hero looks like,so she decided to ask her brother to chaperon her to the mall for this blind date(in her opinion,as the guy know her already).

Notice that life is starting to pour in some magic into dry life like water...To be continued!xP

The Robbery and the Escapade

Life still seems mundane to Iris...One day,as she was walking back from school,a wonderful twist of fate happened for the better.Here is how it goes...

As Iris was building castles in the air,a robber tailed her in the alley and pounced on her.He threatened to sexually assault her should she refuse to turn in her valuables to him.Needless to say,she was scared to death.

Instinctively,Iris screamed,but realized that nothing come out from her throat.Sadly,she began to mutter some prayer under her breath and even cursed herself for some stupid wish for non-routine events to happen,and now here she is,her life is hanging on the thread,in other words:her future is under the mercy of this ugly and ruthless brute.

The robber could no longer stand her slowness anymore.He lose his temper and raised his hands to slap the poor,frightened girl.

As she felt her world crashing around her,she saw another hand shielding her from being injured from the impact of the slap.Without thinking much,Iris saw it as a life-changing opportunity to escape and ran for her life,leaving her school bag behind...

What is the Meaning of Life?So Boring...

Sometimes life is absolutely meaningless to a person who is living someone else's life.A lady of mystery,Iris never told anybody her deepest desire of life and managed to bottle up all her feelings since she was a child to the extent that she was blase to the pain and emptiness that is constantly choking her delicate soul.However there are limited things she could do to change her present situation as she never have the courage to tell anyone about her real self and passion.

Double life in the form of day dreaming is the best thing she could do to relief herself of the sadness that is making her harder and harder to breathe.She can pretend to be the goody-two-shoes in her normal routine,while living a genuine second life in which she can live a life full of absolute vibrant and no worries--a place and condition where there is no sadness,illness and worries.Iris even tried to change the way she see things,but it does not help much,only to preserve her sanity.

However,she is willing to accept the fact that it is totally impossible to hide her feelings forever as the desire of living a more meaningful life still burns deep within her.How is she going to undo the invisible knot within her heart?
